Sathish Ninasam’s next, Dear Vikram, which was earlier called Godhra, was announced as a direct-to-OTT release a few days ago. The film, produced by filmmaker Jacob Varghese and directed by his associate KS Nandeesh, was made as a Kannada-Telugu bilingual, but now that it has bypassed a theatrical release, it will probably be dubbed in other languages too. Dear Vikram had been picked up by Voot Select and it was announced as a June release, although the platform did not specify a date.

With only 10 days to go in June, OTTplay asked around and we have now heard that Dear Vikram will start streaming on the platform on June 30, Thursday. Considering that the June 24 weekend has four confirmed theatrical releases (one of which is coming out on June 23), Dear Vikram was expected next week only and June 30 seems apt.

The political thriller, pairs Sathish with Shraddha Srinath. According to the official description of the film, Dear Vikram is about Nitya, an academically bright student meeting and falling in love with Vikram, who has strong views on politics and idealism. Over time, though, they realise that their views are diametrically opposite and that they want different. What becomes of their relationship then? Vasishta Simha and Achyuth Kumar are also part of the film's cast.

Dear Vikram is a film that began almost five years ago and was delayed owing to multiple reasons. In fact, even the title change was a more recent development. Even though the film has no reference to the 2002 Godhra riots, the censor board authorities thought that the title could be problematic and suggested changing it. Since Sathish’s character is called Vikram, the makers then thought it prudent to name it after him and that’s how it came to be Dear Vikram.
