As GV Prakash Kumar’s upcoming film DeAr gears up for its theatrical release, the makers have just dropped a new single from the film. Titled Sleeping Beauty, the new lyrical song, featuring GV Prakash, describes his difficulty sleeping due to his wife’s snoring. The fun song is crooned by Santhosh Hariharan, with the lyrics penned by Arivu. The song also features the behind-the-scenes footage of the film, in which the cast is seen having a fun time shooting for the DeAr. The song’s Tanglish (Tamil and English) lyrics add a fun element to the catchy number.
Sleeping Beauty is very different from DeAr's earlier single, Thalavali (meaning headache in Tamil). GV Prakash rants about being exhausted by Aishwarya Rajesh’s character. The humorous lyrics include him calling her a headache for not giving him any sort of peace in life.
At the DeAr press meet, GV Prakash revealed that the film deals with not one but three couples and the dynamics in their marital lives. “The film centres around three couples and the issues that arise between them. I am sure it will resonate with everyone,” the actor said. The film has a “matured subject” and deals with behavioural issues between newlywed couples.

Actress Rohini, who plays GV Prakash’s mother in the film, said that live sound technology has been used in DeAr.
The trailer for DeAr features GV Prakash as Arjun and Aishwarya as Deepika, who get married through an arranged marriage. Soon after getting married, the couple realises that Arjun is a light sleeper while Deepika is a heavy snorer. How their sleep issues affect their marital life forms the crux of the story. The film's theme is similar to Manikandan’s 2023 hit film Good Night, which was also based on snoring.
Directed by Anand Ravichandran and bankrolled by Varun Tripuraneni, Abhishek Ramisetty and G Pruthviraj under the banner of Nutmeg Productions and Romeo Pictures, DeAr is slated to hit the big screens on April 11.
