Debaloy Bhattacharya’s shooting stalled and here is the reason…

OTTplay has reported that Debaloy Bhattacharya has started his directorial venture with a new OTT platform, Fridaay. Billed as a thriller, Gorkir Maa stars Ananya Chatterjee, Soham Basu Roychoudhury, Darshana Banik, and Saurav Das, to name a few. It tells the story of a mother and a daughter. Some days of shooting took place. The director gave call times to the actors on Sunday also to finish the work quickly. But suddenly the shooting stopped. 

Debaloy told Anandabazar Online, “I could not shoot due to rain. There is no other reason” He said he was sad. He further added that the RG Kar incident impacted him adversely but he had to go on shooting amidst this. Hence he has been shooting for the last six days. The entire shooting was done inside a house and hence no problem occurred. The outdoor shooting was supposed to take place on Sunday, but the torrential rain did not make it happen. Hence he was compelled to postpone the project. If the rain stops, shooting will start in the first week of September. He will shoot at different parts of the city. If everything goes fine, the series will be released after Puja. 

The name of the series reminds us of the noted Soviet author Maxim Gorky. Does the story follow his novel Mother? Debaloy said ‘The series is influenced by the novel. Ananya named his son Gorky. They live in a rented house. Suddenly goons come and want to evict them. What happens then? The mystery starts from there.’ Ananya and Soham play mother and son. ACP Lalbazar, Alok Sanyal, will play the vice-principal of a college.
