Actress Arunima Ghosh will be seen as a woman investigator in Sagnik Chatterjee’s upcoming web series, Lady Chatterjee. In the thriller series, Arunima, Jajnaseni Chatterjee, will pair up with a DCP, played by Debasish Mondal of Mandaar fame. While the series will be produced by Camelia, the platform is yet to be decided.

Tathagata Mukherjee will be seen as Arunima’s maternal uncle and high-rank police officer. According to sources, the story shows an undisciplined and unruly Jajnaseni, who is usually found in an inebriated state. She is also very sharp when it comes to detection. Her mama, played by Tathagata, seeks her help to solve a case. Hence, she and DCP get on a journey of solving crime. As per our sources, based on its reception, the series may have several seasons.

Arunima has of late been seen in thrillers, including Ayan Chakrabarti’s Shororipu 2: Jotugriho in 2019, Anindya Bikash Dutta’s Kiriti and Arindam Sil’s Shabor series. Meanwhile, Arunima will soon be seen in Abhimanyu Mukherjee’s Kirtan, in which she will be seen as Gourab Chatterjee’s wife and Paran Bandyopadhyay’s daughter-in-law. In a way, the comedy will be a break in the actress’ continuous association with thriller films and series. Meanwhile, she has been busy shooting Arindam Sil’s Iskaboner Bibi in which she plays Prambrata Chatterjee’s wife. She also plays a key character in Arindam’s upcoming film Maayakumari, which features Rituparna Sengupta in lead.

On the other hand, after Mandaar’s success in Hoichoi, Debasish has also been working on a number of projects. He is seen as one of the key characters in Joydeep Mukherjee’s The Eken. He will soon be seen as a police officer in KLIKK’s original series Johny Bonny with Swastika Dutta. When asked about the new project with Arunima, he said, “We only had the primary talks.”
