Deepika Padukone ‘didn’t flinch’ about the idea of Ranveer Singh’s nude shoot from the start, reveals source

Bollywood star Ranveer Singh’s recent nude photographs for New York-based Paper magazine went viral, with it opening a floodgate of comments on the bold photoshoot as well as inspiring a meme fest.

While the actor’s fans lauded him for the bold photoshoot, many also tweeted that they thought his photos were cringe-worthy and bizarre. Many were eagerly awaiting for what actress Deepika Padukone, Ranveer’s wife, thought about him going full Monty for the magazine.

A source close to the actress told India Today that Deepika was equally as impressed as everyone else. She was in on the photoshoot since the start and adored the premise. Deepika had previously seen the photos before they were posted on the internet. Deepika has always been Ranveer's strongest supporter and defender, said the source. “So when it came to doing something totally different, she didn't flinch,” said the source.

Ranveer had a very clear idea of what he wanted for the picture session, and everything all prepared out in advance, the source explained, adding that the actor is eager to take risks. The insider further added that Ranveer felt completely at ease in his own skin, which is why he decided to do the nude photoshoot.

ETimes had reported that Ranveer spoke about the photo shoot earlier. “It’s so easy for me to be physically naked, but in some of my performances I’ve been damn fucking naked. You can see my fucking soul. How naked is that? That’s being actually naked. I can be naked in front of a thousand people, I don’t give a shit. It’s just that they get uncomfortable,” he said.

Ranveer Singh was last seen in Jayeshbhai Jordaar, and has an interesting line-up of films, including Rohit Shetty's directorial Circus. He is also part of Karan Johar's Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani that has Alia Bhatt as the female protagonist.
