Deepika Padukone and her Pathaan co-star Shah Rukh Khan had to face immense criticism for the film’s song Besharam Rang launched this week. Amidst this controversy, the Cocktail actress has left for Qatar for the finals of the FIFA World Cup 2022, where she will be unveiling the FIFA World Cup Trophy.

The paparazzi followed Deepika as she walked towards the gate, and one of the photographers complimented her for Besharam Rang. She smiled graciously and thanked him. Meanwhile, another photographer asked her if she would take a selfie with football sensation Lionel Messi and post it on her social media handle. Deepika responded with, “Batati hun.”

Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan is also a football enthusiast. In a social media post, he revealed that he will be watching the match between Argentina and France in a studio with Wayne Rooney. He captioned the post, “Field par Messi aur Mbappe... Studio mein Wayne Rooney aur main. Pathaan 18 December ki shaam hogi shaandaar. Dekhiye FIFA World Cup Final mere saath  LIVE on Jio Cinema and Sports 18.”

The FIFA World Cup final match will be held on Sunday at the Lusail Iconic Stadium in Qatar. Argentina and France will be competing for the trophy.

Besides Pathaan, Deepika Padukone will next be seen in the Hindi remake of The Intern, alongside Amitabh Bachchan. She is also set to star in Siddharth Anand's film Fighter, alongside Hrithik Roshan. The Om Shanti Om actress recently made a cameo appearance in the song Current Laga Re in the Rohit Shetty directorial Cirkus, starring her husband Ranveer Singh.
