Another update has been released on Hrithik Roshan's War 2! Three prominent actresses are reportedly competing to play the main role, just days after it was announced that Jr. NTR would be joining the YRF Spy Universe with the much anticipated War sequel. If reports are to be believed, Deepika Padukone, Alia Bhatt, or Sharvari Wagh may join Hrithik Roshan and Jr. NTR.

Deepika Padukone, Alia Bhatt, or Sharvari Wagh are said to be the front-runners for War 2.  A final decision will be made soon based on the three actresses' schedules, while the YRF management is still discussing who will play the main lady. "The consideration and the zeroing down on the three names that are being considered for the female lead's role has created quite a buzz in the YRF office,” a source close to the development told ETimes.

The source further added, "The second part of 'War 2' is going to be even more thrilling than its first part. The pre-production work has begun."

There have been a number of developments to the Hrithik Roshan movie over the past week. In addition to Jr. NTR joining the cast, there are rumours that Ayan Mukerji, not Siddharth Anand, will be directing the sequel. Towards the end of this year, War 2 is anticipated to begin filming.

The YRF Spy Universe, created by Yash Raj Films, is centred on movies that feature fictitious RAW agents. Beginning with the Salman Khan-starring 2012 film Ek Tha Tiger, the universe also includes the 2017 films Tiger Zinda Hai, War, with Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff, and Pathaan with Shah Rukh Khan. With Tiger 3, War 2, and Tiger vs. Pathaan, YRF intends to broaden the scope of its spy universe.
