Deepika Padukone has literally taken over social media for a week, and there is no one else getting the limelight when the Fighter star is in it. The actor announced her pregnancy last week as she expects her first child with husband Ranveer Singh. Fans have been trying too hard to get a glimpse of the baby bump if there is any at the moment. She then flew to Jamnagar for the Ambani pre-wedding festivities where she gave us some very beautiful iconic looks. Now, as the B-Town is back in the city, the news headlines are back to being about work. The latest report now talks of a project Karan Johar has been wanting to do with Deepika, but now with a baby on its way, the schedules will only go for a toss for the actor and the filmmaker.
Karan Johar Puts Movie On Hold?
It’s been a while since the rumors of Karan Johar joining hands with Deepika Padukone have been very evident. It was also been said that the filmmaker is planning a Sangham remake with Deepika and Ranveer Singh in the lead, but he has recently refuted those claims. However, there is indeed a movie that brings Johar and Padukone together, but it will now have to wait as Deepika recently announced her pregnancy and will be on maternity leave soon. This has led to Karan Johar putting the project on hold until the actor is back on sets and shooting.
As per a Bollywood Life report, the movie in question here is an author-backed project that is in the making at Dharma and the script of the same is ready. Deepika Padukone as per the same report has even loved the script and is keen on doing the part. But with the pregnancy, she will have to take time off from work and that means the project will get delayed. The report says that Deepika has asked Karan to go ahead with a different actor and not wait for her. But Karan is stubborn about only having her in the lead of the said film.
Karan Johar has decided to wait till Deepika Padukone is back and will work with her then. He wants her to keep the baby on priority right now and will resume once she gives a green signal. The sources say that Johar has a lot of other projects to work on in the meantime. There is no confirmation from either side on this update. Meanwhile, this is not the first time Karan will be waiting for his leading lady to give birth and bounce back on his sets. Alia Bhatt gave birth to Raha mid-way during the shooting of Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahaani and came back on sets in a couple of months. Deepika last collaborated with Dharma for Gehraiyaan. There are no details on whether Karan will be directing this new project or just producing it.
