Bandla Ganesh, who kickstarted his career as a comedian and a sidekick in Telugu films and turned producer later, is back to his forte. He plays the lead role in Degala Babji, the Telugu remake of Parthiban's National-award winning film Oththa Seruppu Size 7, directed by first-time filmmaker Venkat Chandra. Produced by Swathi Chandra under Yashrishi Films, the film went on floors earlier this year and is slated to release shortly. Liger director Puri Jagannadh launched the trailer of Degala Babji earlier today.
In the trailer, the filmmakers claim that Degala Babji is the first time in Telugu cinema that an entire film features a single actor in a single location with the voices of multiple characters. The film tells the story of a suspect in a murder case who's taken into custody by the cops for an investigation. Through the investigation, one not only gets to understand the truth behind the incident, but also his motive and the various traumas that have been haunting him throughout his life.
Bandla Ganesh is a picture of confidence as an actor in this trailer and has taken the challenge of keeping the audiences engaged with the story through his performance. He appears to have done a decent job of the fascinating role given to him though it'll be interesting to see how he fares in comparison to Parthiban. Degala Babji is edited by SB Uddav and has music by Lynus. Arun Devineni has cranked the camera for the film while Gandhi Nadikudikar is the art director of the same. The Hindi version of Oththa Seruppu Size 7 features Abhishek Bachchan in the lead role and is directed by Parthiban.
