Aamir and Akshat recalled how the movie actually came into being, and what it was originally imagined like. You probably wouldn’t guess it, but Aamir was supposed to play Vijay Raaz’s role in the original script.

How did Delhi Belly actually take off?

Akshat Verma recalls coming to Mumbai for a short trip. He came with a script, and happened to go to Aamir Khan Productions’ accounting office. He thought he got unlucky since he appeared during lunch time. However, destiny had different plans. He met the only woman working in the accounting department at the time. For the uninitiated, Aamir ended up producing the film starring Imran Khan, Vir Das and Kunaal Roy Kapur in the lead roles. The superstar also gave a cameo appearance through the song I Hate You Like I Love You.

While Akshat thanked his stars that the accountant gave the script to Aamir, the actor-producer outright refused it. “What? I’ve not got any script from any accountant,” Aamir said.
