Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis shares a big update on Sushant Singh Rajput death case, details!

The tragic death of Sushant Singh Rajput in June 2020 shocked and numbed the entire country. Devendra Fadnavis, the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharastra, just provided a significant update, which comes three years after the actor's passing. The deputy CM mentioned that the investigation is still ongoing while the credibility of the evidence is being assessed when Fadnavis was questioned about the CBI investigation that had been ordered in the case during a recent interview.

Fadnavis told Republic: “At first, the information available was based on hearsay. However, some individuals asserted that they possessed substantial evidence regarding the case. In response, we reached out to them and requested that they submit the evidence to the police.”

“Currently, we are in the process of examining the credibility of the presented evidence. The investigation is still in progress, and it would be premature for me to provide any comments on the eventual outcome of the case at this stage,” he added.

On June 14, 2020, Sushant was found dead in his Bandra flat. He had apparently been struggling with depression. 

Sushant's passing sparked a political brawl in Maharashtra, and the CBI eventually took up the investigation. The Enforcement Directorate and Narcotics Control Bureau later joined the investigation to look into different aspects of the death.

Sushant’s girlfriend and actress Rhea Chakraborty was also arrested by the NCB in September 2020 and was released on bail after almost a month.
