Trusting early reports, if all goes well, Nandamuri Balakrishna will be scoring his third consecutive hit with Bhagavanth Kesari. The veteran actor has been in the form of his life in Akhanda and continued the good momentum with this year’s Sankranthi release Veera Simha Reddy. He’s teaming up with in-form filmmaker Anil Ravipudi for the action entertainer that also stars Sreeleela, Kajal Aggarwal.

Some of the most leading production houses and distributors - Dil Raju’s Sri Venkateswara Films, Primeshow Films, Radhakrishna Entertainments, Sarigama Cinemas - are distributing Bhagavanth Kesari in Telugu states and select overseas locations. Track Tollywood reports that the theatrical business is valued at Rs 70 crore and the satellite, OTT and audio rights were sold for over Rs 50 crore.

The reports are quite good for the film and the well-cut trailer, the aggressive promotional campaign have contributed to the buzz. Bhagavanth Kesari will also have a premiere show at 2.30 am in Singapore at a 1000-seater screen and the early shows in Kuwait are already sold out, despite tomorrow being a working day. Vizag, Tirupati, Chennai and Hyderabad’s bookings for tomorrow are promising.

The clash with Leo has considerably affected its prospects in Andhra Pradesh. Despite limited promotions, the Vijay-Lokesh Kanagaraj actioner is looking at a promising start at the box office. While Leo may have an advantage initially due to the actor-director-music director combo, good word-of-mouth can ensure that Bhagavanth Kesari won’t lag behind much.

Arjun Rampal makes his Telugu debut with Bhagavanth Kesari, which has music by S Thaman. The film is produced by Sahu Garapati and Harish Peddi under Shine Screens. Amazon Prime Video has acquired the post-theatrical streaming rights of the action entertainer. Nandamuri Balakrishna is expected to commence work on director Bobby Kolli’s film in the coming weeks.
