Detective Ujjwalan new release date: Dhyan Sreenivasan's thriller avoids a clash with Tovino Thomas' Narivetta

Since its announcement and the release of a promo video by the film's producers last year, Dhyan Sreenivasan's upcoming movie, Detective Ujjwalan, has garnered a lot of excitement from movie buffs. The makers have now confirmed that the movie will be released later than what was first announced. 

Detective Ujjwalan gets a new release date

Originally scheduled for May 16, the movie will now be released on May 23. It is being speculated that the postponement is to avoid a clash with Tovino Thomas' upcoming film, Narivetta, which will be releasing on May 16.

Dhyan portrays Ujjwalan in the preview video, a private investigator who aspires to solve a big case but is only called in on ridiculous ones. According to the clip, he might be getting a significant case involving a heartless killer. Additionally, it has revealed a masked person who gives the film an air of mystery. Although it is uncertain who will play the antagonist, film enthusiasts are awaiting the appearance of a prominent actor in this role. Dhyan's latest film Kudumba Sthreeyum Kunjadum is streaming on SunNXT and OTTplay Premium. His performance in recent movies, Varshangalkku Shesham and Malayalee From India, was praised by the audience.

The poster suggests that the story is set in rural Kerala as the protagonists are seen in traditional clothing with the background of a shop in a small village. The movie is expected to be an investigative thriller with several comical aspects. The movie's connection to Minnal Murali is another topic of discussion among the audience.

Debutantes Indraneel Gopeekrishnan and Rahul G are directing this film. Detective Ujjwalan is being produced by Sophia Paul under the banner of Weekend Blockbusters, which also bankrolled Basil Joseph's Minnal Murali in 2021. Weekend Blockbusters' most recent release was Kondal, and one of their next projects is a zombie film called Jambi. Detective Ujjwalan will also have performances by Siju Wilson, Rony David, Kottayam Nazeer, Seema G Nair, Ameen Nihaal Nizam, Kalabhavan Navas, Nirmal Palazhy, Josy Sijo, Nibraz Noushad, and Shahubas.
