Avijit Sen’s Projapoti has already created a buzz among the Bengali audience. After shooting at a house in Salt Lake, Kolkata, with Dev, Mithun Chakraborty, Mamata Shankar, Koneenica Banerjee, Koushani Mukherjee, Ambarish Bhattacharya and others, a number of people from the team travelled to Varanasi for shooting. According to reports, Dev and director Avijit have paid a visit to Kasi Viswanath Temple and prayed to Lord Shiva.

The actor posted a number of photos on his social media handle. In the photos, he is seen in a blue kurta and a scarf with a Trishul (trident) print. Besides, his forehead is smeared with tika.

Anandabazar Online got in touch with the director, who confirmed their temple visit. He also informed that he has always been a follower of Lord Shiva and along with Dev, they visited the temple to take blessings. The director praised the temple administration for its seamless Puja procedure. Both of them prayed in front of the idol.

Dev is currently busy with a number of projects. The trailer of his forthcoming film Kaacher Manush with Prosenjit Chatterjee, Ishaa Saha and Susmita Chatterjee may drop on August 15. After the completion of Projapoti, Dev is scheduled to start working on Arun Roy’s Bagha Jatin – a biopic on freedom fighter Jatindranath Mukhopadhyay. As per reports, Dev will also produce the film.

Avijit’s new film Projapoti brought Mithun and Mamata Shankar back together after more than four decades. The last time they worked together was in Mrinal Sen’s Mrigayaa in 1976. It was Mithun’s debut and he bagged the Best Actor’s National Award for the film. Mrigayaa also bagged the Best Feature Film Award at the National Awards that year. Billed as a family drama, Projapati is essentially a father and son film.
