Dev on Projapoti poster launch: We have a tight budget hence couldn’t bring Mithunda to the event

Mithun Chakraborty and Dev’s father-son drama Projapoti will be released on December 23 this year. Recently, the poster of the film was released at a press conference. Directed by Tonic-fame Avijit Sen, the family drama also features Mamata Shankar, Koneenica Banerjee, Ambarish Bhattacharya, and others. The film also marks a comeback of Mithun and Mamata Shankar together in a film 46 years after Mrinal Sen’s Mrigayaa.

Meanwhile, Mithun and Dev shared the stage while judging a dance reality show on TV. They also worked together in Herogiri. Dev is also the co-producer of Projapoti. While Mithun gave the poster launch event a miss, Dev quipped in his absence. The actor who is known for his quick and witty remarks said, “Truly speaking, our budget was tight. Hence, we could not bring Mithunda with a business class ticket. But Mithunda is with us always. We would exceed our budget if we brought him regularly. Since we could afford to fly him down only once, he saved that occasion for the film release.” His comment generated lots of laughter in the Prajapati team. 

Dev and Mithun, though belonging to rival political parties, have immense respect for each other as artistes and the duo leaves no stone unturned to express their love for each other. According to sources, it is because Dev, Mithun agreed to work in Projapoti. The chemistry between Dev and Paran Bandyopadhyay in the film Tonic was hugely appreciated by the audience. Now is the time for Prajapati, which will be released on Christmas.
