Dev to Hiran: If he has evidences, he should go to the ED and CBI officials

Actor-turned-politician Hiran Chatterjee has been attacking his co-workers in the Bengali film industry on the ongoing corruption charges. Recently, he alleged that Ghatal’s MP Dev has received Rs 5 cr from Enamul Haque, who was arrested in connection with a cow smuggling racket. Besides, he also brought corruption allegations against Saayoni Ghosh and Bonny Sengupta. 

In a recent media interaction, Hiran said, “Ninety-nine per cent of the producers, directors, and actors in the Bengali film industry is corrupt. During that time, Dev was holidaying in the Maldives with his girlfriend Rukmini Maitra. 

Dev and Rukmini returned and attended an event on Saturday. There Dev suggested that Hiran should go to the ED and CBI officials. “If he has any proof of corruption, he should go to the ED and CBI officials. Investigators don’t have so much evidence that Hiran has,” the actor said sarcastically while interacting with ABP Ananda. 

Dev added, “It is not important what Hiran is claiming. Why should I give the same answer repeatedly? I have been clear from the first day and I replied multiple times. No matter how many times you ask, the answer will remain the same.”

Dev further added that he has no problem producing papers regarding his earnings but he doesn’t support personal attacks. He is known to be a courteous politician. However, he has been maligned by the opposition a number of times. “Hiran is a good person. I think everyone has freedom of speech in this country. Anyone can say anything they want in this state and country,” the actor said. 

Recently, Hiran brought allegations against a large section of the Bengali film industry. Besides Dev, Saayoni, and others, he said, “Producer Srikant Mohta looted crores of rupees. He was jailed and 99% of Tollywood’s producers, directors, and actors are directly or indirectly involved with corruption.”
