Deva worldwide box office collection day 3: Shahid Kapoor's cop drama surpasses Rs 30 crore; is Rs 50 crore the next stop?

Deva worldwide box office collection day 3: Filmmaker Rosshan Andrrews made his Hindi film debut with Deva, starring Shahid Kapoor in the lead role. Despite mixed feedback, the cop drama got a decent opening at the box office. After three days of its theatrical release, the film minted close to Rs 20 crore in India. On the other hand, Deva raced past Rs 30 crore at the worldwide box office.

The makers of Deva shared cumulative worldwide box office figures on social media. Zee Studios revealed that the Shahid Kapoor-starrer collected Rs 34.01 crore globally on day three. If the film continues at this pace, it will soon cross the Rs 50-crore mark. While sharing the BO update, the makers wrote, "Deva's rise continues Deva in cinemas now, book your tickets! (Link in bio) (sic)."

For those who are unaware, Deva follows the story of a skilled but defiant police officer who is tasked to investigate a major case. Shahid is seen as cop Dev Ambre while Pooja Hegde essays the character of Diya Sathaye. The star cast also includes Kubbra Sait, Manish Wadhwa, and Pavail Gulati.

Shahid Kapoor on Deva's connection with Deewaar

Meanwhile, in an interview with PTI, Shahid Kapoor revealed if there's any connection between Deva and Amitabh Bachchan's Deewaar. The actor said, "This question should be for Rosshan because he was the one who chose that. There is relevance within the film. A performance in a film like that makes every actor feel humble. Talking about Amit Ji we have all grown up watching him, we have idolised him as a star. The film had a strong story, very good interpersonal dynamics, great dialogues, and stellar performances."

Once Deva's theatrical run ends, it will premiere on Netflix. However, the film's OTT release hasn't been announced yet.
