Devara Part 1 glimpse - Jr NTR paints a coastal town red in a brutal action drama

Audiences across the globe have been waiting with bated breath to watch Jr NTR on the big screen again after the 2022 release, the Academy Award-winning film RRR. He is joining hands with five-film-old filmmaker Koratala Siva for a two-part action thriller franchise Devara. Janhvi Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan make their Telugu debut with the film produced by Sudhakar Mikkilineni and Harikrishna K under NTR Arts.

Much to the relief of film buffs, the makers unveiled the first glimpse today. Teasing fans about the glimpse, the production house shared various social media posts over the day, with lines like.. ‘You never touch the sea..You never play with me..I’ll never show you mercy..I’ll never let you be! Blood is pourin down..Blood is all around..The sea is full of blood..It’s his Red Sea! All hail the Tiger.”

The glimpse introduces audiences to a coastal town, a sea and its brooding ambience. Just when you soak in its world, Jr NTR rises like a phoenix, resorting to violence and killing a group of henchmen. Blood is all over the place and even forms a pattern with the moon. The water in the sea is filled with blood while Jr NTR wipes the stains off his knife.

‘This sea has witnessed more swords and blood than fish..perhaps that’s why it’s called Erra Samudram (Red Sea),’ Jr NTR’s voiceover ends. The stylish background score, the mellowed colour palette, an intense Jr NTR and stunning action sequences - the glimpse has everything a fan would expect from a high-voltage action drama.

Devara marks the first collaboration between Anirudh Ravichander and Jr NTR. Sabu Cyril has come on board as the production designer while award-winning technician Sreekar Prasad is the editor. Ratnavelu cranks the camera for the film while Nandamuri Kalyan Ram, Jr NTR’s brother is the presenter. Devara hits screens on April 5, after which Jr NTR will commence working for War 2.
