Prosenjit will play Bhabani Pathak and Srabanti will play Devi Chowdhurani
It has been announced that Subhrajit Mitra’s Devi Chowdhurani will release in 2024. The poster of the film will come to the public at the Cannes Film Festival. The film is based on Bankimchandra Chattopadhyay's novel.
On Saturday, Prosenjit Chatterjee took to his social media to announce the news. He joyously shared several photos on Instagram and wrote, “Motion Poster of #DeviChowdhurani (Bandit Queen of Bengal) will be unveiled to the International Audience and world media at the India Pavilion in Marche du Films, Cannes 2023.”
The post became viral and many stars expressed love for the superstar and his new journey.
The Jubilee actor will play Bhabani Pathak and Srabanti will play Devi Chowdhurani. Sabyasachi Chakraborty and his son Arjun Chakraborty will play pivotal roles. Bibriti Chatterjee and Darshana Banik are also there in the film. Vikram Ghosh is the composer of the film.
Mumbai's famous action director Sham Kaushal, who is the father of Vicky Kaushal, will direct the action scenes of the film.
Subhrajit recently went to Mumbai, where the agreement was signed. He told Anandabazar Online, “Shyam ji will come to Kolkata with his team. He will work for the first time in Bengali cinema. He loved the script. He will arrange a special workshop with the actors.” The shooting will start after July.
