The creative differences between Naveen Medaram and the production house Abhishek Pictures, haven’t helped team Devil over the last week. However, the first single, Maaye Chesi, sung by Sid Sriram, launched today, does well to calm the storm. Harshavardhan Rameshwar composes the music for the film that stars Nandamuri Kalyan Ram, Samyuktha and Malvika Nair in key roles.

Maaye Chesi is all about a secret detective in the pre-Independence era who gradually falls in love with a woman, with the latter too responding to his advances. The song does well to capture their growing intimacy. The beautiful sets, surreal locations, the aesthetically designed costumes and the likeable chemistry between the lead pair truly makes it an instant favourite for a listener.
The RV Satya-lyricised number is another cherry on the cake for its singer Sid Sriram, whose dream run in Telugu cinema is showing no signs of stopping anytime soon. The slow-paced composition gives him all the liberty to lend his trademark classical touch to Maaye Chesi. Harshavardhan Rameshwar, known more his heavy and intense scores in the industry, charms film buffs with a sweet, laidback melody.
Directed and produced by Abhishek Nama under Abhishek Pictures, Devil is a slick action thriller made on a lavish canvas. The makers recently finalised the release date - November 24 and the film will be out in multiple languages - Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Tamil. Srikanth Vissa wrote the story, screenplay and dialogues for the much-anticipated project.
Soundar Rajan S cranks the camera. Gandhi Nadikudikar is the art director of the same while Tammiraju is the editor. Devansh Nama is the presenter and Vijay Rathinam is the sound designer. Devil is Kalyan Ram’s second release this year after Amigos, where he’d essayed a triple role for the first time in his career (the film is now out on Netflix).
