Spoiler Alert!
Dhadak 2 is a Hindi romantic drama film starring Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri. It explores the complexities of inter-caste love and social discrimination. It's a remake of the Tamil movie Pariyerum Perumal. The movie follows the story of a lower-caste law student, Neelesh (Siddhant), and an upper-caste girl, Vidhi (Triptii), as their relationship faces societal backlash. This film deals with themes of caste politics, injustice, and the struggles of individuals who navigate the path of social norms and expectations. What happened to the love story of Neelesh and Vidhi at the end? Did they end up being together or give up under the pressure of society? Let's find out!
Inter-caste love story is still not taken seriously in society. Dhadak 2 highlights the complexities of inter-caste love and social discrimination through the love story of Neelesh (Siddhant Chaturvedi), a lower caste boy, and Vidhi (Triptii Dimri), an upper cast girl. Neelesh avoids using his surname in college so that he does not face discrimination often.
Both Neelesh and Vidhi study law at the same college and start growing feelings for each other. Now, love does not know what caste or society is. All it knows is feelings. When Neelesh and Vidhi's love story gets revealed to the latter's father, problems arise. When Neelesh attends Vidhi's sister's marriage, he faces discrimination and is beaten.
Following this, Neelesh is advised not to contact Vidhi by her father. Unaware of this whole situation, Vidhi tries reaching out to Neelesh over the phone but is unsuccessful. She goes straight to his house, and Neelesh informs her that their love story can't be successful.
The movie also shows how Neelesh, his parents, and even his dog, Birju, faced discrimination in the past. His dog was even killed just because it was Neelesh's, who belongs to the lower caste section of society.
Neelesh has regular fights with Vidhi's brother, Rony, who is also a law student at the same college. Neelesh often hears that he is studying for free just because he belongs to the lower caste. One day, his father is asked to meet the principal of Neelesh's college due to the latter's fight with Vidhi's brother. After the meeting, Neelesh's father faces discrimination, which angers him.
At the start of Dhadak 2, we see Shankar kill a student, and following this, his killing spree in society continues. He is a man in his mid-forties and a self-proclaimed cleaner of society.
Vidhi's father and Rony approach Shankar to kill Neelesh. Shankar refuses to take money to kill Neelesh. In broad daylight, he goes to Neelesh and subtly calls him to a secluded place. He secretly hits him on the head and drags his unconscious body near the railway tracks. During his unconscious time, Neelesh sees Birju licking his cheek, signalling him to wake up. He wakes up in time to escape, but remembers all the times he was tortured at the hands of those who deemed him unworthy of life. Hence, he decides to fight back.

He chases after Shankar and finds Rony at the scene, realizing that he sent Shankar to kill him. Neelesh and Rony have a huge fight. When Rony reaches his house along with Neelesh, the latter reveals Vidhi's father's true colors to her face. Vidhi realizes that all this time, her father was also equally involved in the scene. Meanwhile, when her uncle tries to shoot Neelesh, she shouts in resistance. She hugs Neelesh in front of her parents, expresses her support, and strongly protests against the cast system.
