The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) is at it again! Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri's Dhadak 2 has undergone major changes at the board. The film had to make 16 major edits to pass the censor board.
Dhadak was originally the Hindi adaptation of Sairat. The movie's plot revolved around lovers from different caste trying to get accepted by the society and above all, their own family members. Of course, politics within the families killed them, literally. Dhadak 2 was bound to follow the same plot but CBFC asked for 16 major changes around political, caste, and religious sensitivities. According to DNA, one of the biggest changes was directly addressing a politician with the wording. Changes were made to keep the reference point more subtle. Even Tulsidas' couplet, which was part of a song, had to be edited out. A character's father being insulted was also edited to not make the scene appear too aggressive. Moreover, the film's opening disclaimed itself is almost two minute long.
Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri's film has finally got the nod from the CBFC. The movie was cleared but with U/A certificate. The original film, featuring Beyond The Clouds actor Ishaan Khatter opposite Janhvi Kapoor, also received U/A certificate.
Although Shahid Kapoor (Haider)'s brother Ishaan did get his debut with Beyond The Clouds, his big Bollywood debut happened with Karan Johar's Dhadak. The movie also launched Janhvi Kapoor in the industry. Her ending scene, in particular, got the viewers to notice her. The actress is now preparing to appear opposite Jabariya Jodi actor Sidharth Malhotra in Dinesh Vijan (Go Goa Gone)'s Param Sundari. The teaser, out in theatres with Bhool Chuk Maaf's release, has caught people's attention. It is Janhvi's beauty that has attracted people over the years and the same appears to be the case with Param Sundari so far.
