Kartik Aaryan plays Arjun Pathak, a host at Radio Bharosa. A bit of a wastrel, he’s a cynical ex-TV news anchor. When he gets an alarming call on his radio show, about a terrorist about to blow the Bandra-Worli Mumbai Sea Link, a terrorist who is only willing to speak to him, Arjun sees a chance for a career comeback in the midst of this human tragedy.

But at what cost will he resurrect his career? Amruta Subhash plays the TRP chasing boss, and Mrunal Thakur plays a reporter, and Arjun’s wife whose life is on the line, reporting from the battlefront. Based on the 2013 South Korean film The Terror Live, Dhamaka looks like not just a newsroom drama, but also a conscience drama, trying to test the limits of human apathy. Described by the makers as a chamber drama, the film was shot within 9 days.
