Ravi Teja, who faced a series of duds prior to a hit like Krack, had to digest the failure of two other films Khiladi and Ramarao on Duty to taste success with Dhamaka. The film, that released on December 23 for the Christmas weekend, is performing well, with its collections bettering by the day owing to strong word of mouth. Sreeleela is the female lead of this Trinadha Rao Nakkina directorial.
The film’s streaming rights have been bagged the OTT giant Netflix. Dhamaka is expected to premiere on the platform in the later half of January/early February 2023. There’s curiosity around the company’s future successor, Nanda Gopal’s son Anand Chakravarthi (Ravi Teja) is the hot favourite to take the former’s legacy forward. However, JP, a crooked businessman (Jayaram) is keen to take over the company.
Dhamaka had cinematography by Karthik Gattamneni and was edited by Prawin Pudi. Bheems Ceciroleo, who had also worked for Ravi Teja’s Bengal Tiger, scored the music. Some of his tracks like What’s Happening, Jinthaak, Dandakadiyal are a huge hit with music buffs. Sri Nagendra Tangala is the art director while Ram-Lakshman and Venkat are the action choreographers.
Sekhar VJ, Jani Master, Yash choreographed the dance sequence with Ramajogayya Sastry, Kasarla Shyam, Suddala Ashok Teja penning the lyrics. Swetha Varma and Preetham Jukalker are the costume designers. Sreeleela proves to be a natural with comedy and the song-dance routine.”
