The much-awaited trailer for Dhamaka is finally out. Starring Kartik Aaryan in the leading role, the Netflix original film shows the actor as a cynical ex-TV news anchor who while hosting a radio show gets an alarming call. Soon after the call which he thinks is a prank, Arjun Pathak (Kartik) witnesses the Bandra Worli Sea Link blowing up. Seeing it as an opportunity to resurrect his TV career, he makes a comeback as an anchor.
In the hands of his producer played by Amruta Subhash, Arjun is stuck in a tongue-tied situation with constant threats by the terrorist, his wife's (Mrunal Thakur) life being at stake and also in the hope to save innocent lives. Kartik dons an intense look which is something never seen before for the actor. There are many layers to his performance that will make fans watch out for Dhamaka.
While describing the premise, Netflix stated, "When a cynical ex-TV news anchor gets an alarming call on his radio show, he sees a chance for a career comeback; but will it cost him his conscience?"
Dhamaka is directed by Ram Madhvani and the filmmaker co-produced it with Ronnie Screwvala's RSVP Movies. The film also features Vikas Kumar and Vishwajeet Pradhan in pivotal roles.
This is the first outing of Kartik and Mrunal onscreen together, while the latter has been a part of several OTT titled namely Ghost Stories, Toofaan and others.
