The makers of Daali Dhananjaya’s film with Rachita Ram, Monsoon Raaga, had announced its theatrical release date way back in early May. August 12 was the chosen date, setting up a box-office clash with director Yogaraj Bhat’s Gaalipata 2, which has Ganesh, Diganth, Pawan Kumar, Sharmiela Mandre, Samyuktha Menon and Vaibhavi Shandilya on its cast.
However, this week, leading man Dhananjaya took to social media to announce that the release date was being pushed ahead by a week. Monsoon Raaga will now come to theatres on August 19. The romantic action entertainer has music by J Anoop Seelin and cinematography by SK Rao. In earlier interactions with the media, Dhananjaya has been quoted as saying that his character in the film is that of an innocent guy with a positive outlook to life. The film, he had said, was shot amid real rain, as the monsoon is an integral part of the story. Monsoon Raaga is Dhananjaya’s first collaboration with Rachita and it has been reported that both the actors have never-before-seen roles.
Monsoon Raaga is Ravindranath’s second film after Pushpaka Vimana, which was produced by Vikyath AR’s Vikyath Chitra, and is backing this one too. For Dhananjaya, Monsoon Raaga will be his first solo hero release of the year. The Badava Rascal actor was most recently seen in Shiva Rajkumar’s 123rdfilm Bhairagee. In September, he has Once Upon a Time in Jamaligudda, opposite Aditi Prabhudeva. He will also be seen in a pivotal role in Jaggesh’s Thotapuri. Thereafter, in October, Dhananjaya will release his second home production, the first part in the MP Jayaraj biopic – Head Bush. The actor, who is currently shooting for his milestone 25th film Hoysala has a busy schedule in the next few months.
Rachita, who was last seen in Ek Love Ya and the Trademark song from James, will also have a slew of releases this year, considering that her films Veeram, Ravi Bopanna and Matinee are ready. The actress is currently in Poland, shooting for Kranti along with Challenging Star Darshan.
