Dhandoraa out on OTT: Where to watch this Telugu film which asks crucial questions on caste

The Telugu film Dhandoraa, which was among the several Christmas 2025 releases, has begun its digital journey. Featuring actor Sivaji in a key role, Dhandoraa is now streaming on Prime Video (Subscribers of OTTplay Premium can also watch the film with a top-up option). The Telugu movie delves into the sensitive issues of honour killing, and caste, asking crucial questions.

Where to watch Dhandoraa on streaming

Helmed by Murali Kanth D, the 2025 film Dhandoraa released in theatres on December 25 for Christmas. Dhandoraa made its streaming debut on Prime Video on January 14, within three weeks of its theatrical release. Subscribers of OTTplay Premium can also top-up their subscription to watch Dhandoraa right now. Apart from its original language of Telugu, Dhandoraa is available to stream in Hindi, Malayalam and Tamil with English subtitles on the platform. The relatively smaller film, which does not feature any stars, won appreciation for tackling crucial issues and deserves to be watched online. 

What’s Dhandoraa about

Dhandoraa delves into the issues of caste in a small village, through the tale of upper-caste landlord Shivaji. The film unfolds through two timelines - one set in the early 2000s and the other in the present time. In the 2000s portions, the film depicts the love story between an upper-caste woman and a lower-caste man. In the present, there is concern over the cremation of Shivaji. 

The film, a social drama, brings together these two tales to give a holistic view of how caste continues to play a key role in our society, where honour killings get reported even in the so-called modern times. The director has also penned the script. In the trailer of Dhandoraa, a judge asks Shivaji why it took him so long to rectify his mistakes. To which the middle-aged man replies that this is not a hangover that will fade away in the morning, but the intoxication of caste that takes time to get over.

Dhandoraa features Sivaji as the upper-caste landlord, along with Ravi Krishna, Navdeep and Shree Nandu. Bindu Madhavi, Mounica, Manika, and Raadhya are also part of the cast.
