Nithya Menen, who is basking in the accolades for her role, failed to attend the event
Dhanush's Thiruchitrambalam, which hit screens on August 21, has been declared a hit at the box office. Thiruchitrambalam opened to positive reviews from the critics and audience alike and the team recently threw a party celebrating the success of the film. Dhanush was seen in the look for his upcoming film with Arun Matheswaran, Captain Miller. Sporting a long beard, the actor was all smiles and was seen gleefully posing for pictures with the team. However, Nithya Menen, one of the leading ladies of the film, who has been basking in the accolades for her performance in Thiruchitrambalam, failed to make it to the event.
Thiruchitrambalam is a romantic family drama, written and directed by Mithran R Jawahar. The film has Dhanush playing the lead along with Nithya Menen, Raashi Khanna and Priya Bhavani Shankar. The supporting cast includes Bharathiraja, Prakash Raj, Munishkanth, Sriranjini, Stunt Silva and Aranthangi Nisha. Thiruchitrambalam marks the comeback of the hit combo of Anirudh and Dhanush, who are fondly known DnA. The songs, Thaai Kelavi, Megham Karukaatha, Life of Pazham and Thenmozhi, have become chartbusters.
The buzz is that the film has already collected Rs 65 crore in the first week across the world and theatres are receiving decent footfall for the second week as well. Since there are no big releases until August 30, Thiruchitrambalam is likely to have a steady run for a few more days. Thiruchitrambalam has been bankrolled by Sun Pictures.
In the meantime, Dhanush is busy working on Captain Miller. The film is said to be a high-budget drama set in the 1930s and 40s and Dhanush will be seen in different avatars in it. GV Prakash will be scoring the music for the film. Captain Miller is presented by Sathya Jyothi Films' TG Thyagarajan and backed by Senthil and Arjun Thyagarajan.
