Director Arun Matheswaran's much-awaited Saani Kaayidham hit screens today and the film has been receiving rave reviews from the critics and audience alike. The film has Selvaraghavan and Keerthy Suresh playing the leads in it. Actor Dhanush who recently saw the film, is all praise for the film. He took to his social media page to appreciate the team and said that he was extremely proud of the film's director Arun Matheswaran.

He wrote, "Congrats to saani kaayidham team on a brutal brilliantly made revenge drama. Good job @selvaraghavan @KeerthyOfficial and all the other actors too..I’m very proud of you @ArunMatheswaran You are a visionary (sic)."

Saani Kaayidham is director Arun's sophomore film. Rocky, which released in theatres a few months ago, marked his debut as a director. Arun had earlier worked as an assistant to Thiagarajan Kumararaja in Aaranya Kaandam (2010). His Rocky, that released after much delay, was well appreciated by the audience.

Selvaraghavan, who recently made his acting debut with Nelson Dilipkumar's Beast, is seen in an intense role in Saani Kaayidham. The plot revolves around two people from an oppressed caste, who are all set to take revenge against a group of men from the dominant caste after their lives are destroyed by them. Keerthy and Selva play Ponni (a police constable) and Sangaiah (a gas delivery and her half brother), respectively, who are ruthless in their mission. How an incident changes their life topsy-turvy forms the crux of the story.

Keerthy Suresh, who not long ago won the National award for her performance as veteran actress Savitri in the 2018 film Nadigaiyar Thilagam (veteran actor Savitri’s biopic), is a police constable who commits a series of murders in Saani Kaayidham. Both Keerthy and Selva have been receiving a lot of praise from the critics and audience alike.

While Yamini Yagnamurthy has cranked the camera for the film, Nagooran has handled its editing. Music is by Sam CS. The film released today on Amazon Prime Video.
