If the buzz in the industry is to be believed, the first single from director Vetri Maaran's upcoming film, Viduthalai, is set to be out on February 8. The song, we hear, has been sung by Dhanush, who is a frequent collaborator with director Vetri Maaran. The single has been composed by Isaignani Ilaiyaraaja marking his maiden collaboration with the director. Viduthalai stars Soori and Makkal Selvan Vijay Sethupathi in the lead. While Soori plays a police constable in the film, Vijay Sethupathi's character is seen as his mentor, who is fondly addressed as Vaathiyar.
The dubbing for the film is happening in full swing and the team had dropped pictures of Vijay Sethupathi dubbing for his portions at the studio. The film has an ensemble star cast including Gautham Vasudev Menon, Bhavani Sre, Prakash Raj, Rajiv Menon and Chetan to name a few. The plot, we hear, has been adapted from B Jeyamohan's novel titled Thunaivan. The portions have been shot in the deep, interior regions of Sathyamangalam and Sirumalai. The film is all set to release in two parts. While the cinematography is by R Velraj, editing is by R Ramar.
Peter Hein has choreographed the stunt sequences and Jacki has handled the art direction by Jacki. Udhayanidhi Stalin's Red Giant Movies is distributing the film, which is bankrolled by Elred Kumar of RS Infotainment.
After Viduthalai, Vetri Maaran is all set to resume work on his next, the much-hyped Vaadi Vaasal, which will have Suriya playing a bull tamer. The actor has been prepping for character for quite some time now and has even been rearing bulls to get into the skin of the character. This is Vetri Maaran's first venture with Suriya and hence, expectations are running high. The look test was held at ECR more than a year ago and fans are eagerly awaiting the shoot to begin.
