Dhanush's Vaathi album composed by GV Prakash arrives in style!

The album of Dhanush's upcoming film Vaathi is finally out. The album was released in a gala affair in Chennai last night. Dhanush, who spoke on the occasion, said that he was glad to play a teacher in the film and that only after donning the role did he understand how being a teacher was a tough role to play in a society. GV Prakash, who composed the music for the album, was glad that his maiden venture of the year was out. Taking to his social media handle, GV Prakash wrote, "Here is the track list of #vaathi . My first album for 2023 … super happy that #vaavaathi is already a super hit trk in this lot. @dhanushkraja @SitharaEnts #venkyatluri @adityamusic @Fortune4Cinemas (sic)."

The album comprises five songs, namely, Vaa Vaathi (lyrics by Dhanush and sung by Shwetha Mohan), Nadodi Mannan (lyrics by Yugabharathi and sung by Anthony Dasan), Kalangudhe (lyrics by Yugabharathi and sung by Vijay Yesudas), One life ( lyrics by Dhanush and Arivu and sung by Stephen Zecharaiah and Arivu) and Sooriya Paraivagaley (lyrics by Yugabharathi and sung by Tippu and Ravi G).

The plot of Vaathi is set in the 90s and Dhanush plays a teacher who takes on a corrupt educational system. Samyuktha Menon plays the leading lady in the film, Samuthirakani, the antagonist. The film is directed by Venky Atluri, marking his maiden collaboration with Dhanush. Vaathi is bilingual and the film has been titled Sir in Telugu. The coming-of-age drama is bankrolled by Sithara Entertainments, Fortune Four Cinemas and Srikara Studios. The film is slated to hit screens on February 17. The digital rights of the film have been acquired by Netflix.

Interestingly, Dhanush's film will clash with his brother Selvaraghavan's Bakasuran, which is also releasing on the same date. The film is directed by Mohan and has Natty playing a crucial role.
