Superstars Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan mourn their dear industry member Dharmendra's passing away. Both the actors share fond memories with the superstar Deol. They pay tribute to Dharmendra through social media, calling his passing an irreplaceable loss. Dharmendra, hospitalized after facing breathing difficulties, was receiving treatment at his home. The superstar's passing away comes days before his 90th birthday on December 8.
Calling Dharmendra a father figure, Shah Rukh Khan thanked him for all the blessings and love. "An inconsolable and irreplaceable loss to not just his family, but to cinema and film lovers world over. You are immortal… and your soul will live through your films and your beautiful family forever. Love you always," King Khan shared.
Amitabh Bachchan, who grew as a superstar along with Dharmendra, feels the silence as his 'Veeru' is no more. The Sholay co-actors shared an unbreakable bond on screen, one which cannot be replaced even in real life.
"Another valiant Giant has left us .. left the arena .. leaving behind a silence with an unbearable sound," Big B shared, while penning about Dharmendra's largeness of heart and most endearing simplicity.
"He brought with him the earthiness of the village in Punjab he came from , and remained true to its temperament .. un soiled throughout his glorious career , in a fraternity that witnessed changes every decade," senior Bachchan noted and ended his letter with prayers for the departed soul.

Dharmendra, who continued contributing to cinema despite his deteriorating health, was hospitalized at the beginning of November. Many media reports suggested that the superstar died on November 11, but his family (Esha Deol, Hema Malini) clarified that he continues to receive treatment and is responding well. Dharmendra was discharged from the hospital a few days later. On November 24, a few hours after his audio note was released over Ikkis poster, media received a statement confirming the actor's demise. Dharmendra's last rites took place in Mumbai.
