MC TodFod was one among the many contributors to the music of Gully Boy

Dharmesh Parmar, who is better known as MC Tod Fod, and was also a part of hit film Gully Boy has died at the age of 24. The cause for the passing of the musical artist has still not been revealed.
Associated with the Mumbai-based hip-hop collective Swadesi, MC Tod Fod also sang the song India 91 for Gully Boy. He was one among the many artists including Divine, Naezy, Sez on the beat, Rishi Rich, Dub Sharma, Jasleen Royal, Ace, Ishq Bector, MC Altaf, and 100 RBH, who contributed to the music for the film.
Following his untimely demise, Ranveer Singh and Siddhant Chaturvedi, who were a part of Gully Boy, took to social media to share their condolences.
Singh took to the stories option on Instagram to share a photo of the late artist and put a broken heart emoticon in the post. Chatuverdi also shared a story on Instagram, sharing a screenshot of a conversation he previously had with Tod Fod.
Directed by Zoya Akhtar, the film was based on the lives of rappers Divine and Naezy and followed an aspiring rapper (Singh) from the slums of Dharavi. Chaturvedi played the role of his mentor, MC Sher in the film.
Akhtar also took to Instagram, sharing a photo of the rapper and writing, “You have gone way too soon. I can only be grateful our paths crossed. Rest in peace Bantai”.
MC Tod Fod recently released two EPs with Swadesi as well as a full-length album Chetavni (2020). The official Instagram handle of Swadesi also shared their condolences following the artist’s passing.
