Dheekshith Shetty on his full circle moment with Shivarajkumar

Years ago, when Dheekshith Shetty was exploring opportunities to become a film artiste, the very first movie set he saw was of a Shivarajkumar-starrer project. “The first hero I ever saw in real life was Shivanna sir at Kanteerava Studio. I had gone there to try and understand what it meant to be a junior artiste on the set of a star. This was way back in 2014 and now, cut to 11 years later, I am at a stage in my career, where I am sharing screen space with Shivanna sir, in a lead role. It’s a full circle moment for me,” says Dheekshith speaking to Guarantee News.

Dheekshith is an IPS officer in film with Shivarajkumar

In director Pavan Wadeyar’s first collaboration with Shivarajkumar, Dheekshith is playing a cop, which is a first for him too. “We are currently shooting for the film, in which I play an IPS officer. I think life has been very kind to me, but I also believe that hard work beats talent. I never thought I would ever share screen space with Shivanna sir, but here I am today. It makes me very happy,” adds the actor, amid promotions of his upcoming movies, The Girlfriend and Bank of Bhagyalakshmi.

Although The Girlfriend is a Telugu original film, starring Rashmika Mandanna in the lead, it will have a Kannada version as well, given that both Dheekshith and the actress have an audience back home. The film by Rahul Ravindran releases on November 7. Dheekshith has an interesting lineup of films across languages, yet he says that he still has the bandwidth to accommodate more work.

In fact, the actor says that he has been inspired by the work ethic of the Century Star, who juggles multiple projects at the same time. “Watching him, I have realized that the best way forward is to keep doing as much work as possible and giving each your best,” he signs off.
