Naga Chaitanya's Dhootha continues to do well on OTT. The show is trending on top for the third consecutive week on Amazon Prime Video.
Dhootha marks the OTT debut of Naga Chaitanya in the digital space. The leading man plays the media head of a newspaper in his debut series, which has created a sensation of sorts on Amazon Prime. Dhootha has been on top of the charts for three consecutive weeks now.
This shows the kind of success the show has seen. Vikram Kumar, who gave Naga Chaitanya his career's biggest hit in Manam, has directed this series. Dhootha showcases Naga Chaitanya as a character with negative shades. Generally, Naga Chaitanya is known to do romantic family dramas but with Dhootha, Chay has proved that he can also do versatile roles in different genres.
Chay's performance in key scenes shows what kind of mature actor he has become in the last year or so. The way Chay stepped outside of his comfort zone has been well-received by his followers and audience as a whole. Chay teams up with Parvathy Thiruvothu, Prachi Desai, and Priya Bhavani Shankar in this series, which has been produced by Sharath Marrar. It has eight episodes in total.
In all his previous interviews in the last year or so, Chay has always spoken about working in the digital space and how the platform allows him to choose subjects freely without being judged. Thrilled with the response he got for the show and his role, we have exclusively learned that Naga Chaitanya is all set to greenlit two more OTT projects next year.
As of now, Chay is shooting for the biggest film of his career, Thandel. The village drama is being directed by Karthikeya 2 fame Chandoo Mondeti and Chay will be seen as a gritty fisherman in the film. Sai Pallavi is his love interest in this film, which is being bankrolled by Allu Aravind under the GA 2 Pictures banner. The shooting of the film is currently underway in Udipi.
