Dhruva Sarja says ‘It’s a rebirth’, as actor and team Martin survive mid-air crisis

A little bump while in the air can be quite the scary experience, and even more so if the pilot you’ve trusted your life with is sending out distress calls. The team of the Kannada film Martin, including lead pair Dhruva Sarja and Vaibhavi Shandilya, director AP Arjun, choreographer Imran Sardhariya, among others, had just that experience on their way to Kashmir for a song shoot.

“Worst experience we’ve ever had. We are safe and thank God,” said Dhruva in a video shared by the team, in which Arjun is chimes in, “Thanks to the pilot”. OTTplay reached out to Dhruva and the actor said, “Feels like rebirth, I swear”. Vaibhavi added, “Thank you for your concern about our well-being. We are doing fine.”

The much-delayed Martin was just back on track with the team beginning work on the pending shoots. The film, produced by Uday K Mehta, was meant to be a September 2022 release and was looking at a clash with Kantara and Ponniyin Selvan. But it was then pushed ahead and is still not ready for its date with audiences. After completing the talkie portions, Dhruva had taken off and begun work on his next, KD – The Devil, with director Prem and KVN Productions, for which he had lost much of the muscle mass he had gained for Martin.

There were rumours of a discord with producer Uday Mehta, which the actor had brushed off at his birthday celebration in October last year. Industry sources had said that the delay in production of Martin was hurting the producer financially. Director Arjun had said that a release date could not be announced without the songs and now that the shoot on that had begun, it finally looked as if Martin would be a first half of 2024 release after all.
