Dhruva Sarja’s Martin release date to be announced after song shoots

Fans of Action Prince Dhruva Sarja have been waiting eagerly for news on his next, Martin, which was meant to be a September 30, 2022 release, but was then pushed ahead indefinitely, as the team had not finished shooting some portions. There was also a lot of graphic work pending, which is time consuming. When the team then released the first teaser in late February 2023, there was a glimmer of hope that the AP Arjun directorial would be in theatres, say, by June-July.

Going by this estimate, we wondered if the team would begin release promotions after the Karnataka elections, but then Arjun told us that a firm date can be announced only after the songs have been shot. “I don’t want to commit to a certain date, because there are film teams that plan their releases according to the schedule of big-ticket movies. If I announce a date and am not able to meet that for some reason, it will inconvenience others too, who will have to shuffle their dates. The film will not be ready for theatres by June or July,” says the filmmaker, adding, “But we will not delay the film too much also.”

So, then, what is the current update on the film? “We have 3 songs left to be shot. Dhruva is currently working on KD and will allot dates for the song shoots once he is on schedule break from Prem’s film,” says Arjun. But won’t there be a further delay given that Dhruva has lost a lot of the weight and muscle mass he had gained for Martin? “Dhruva has been on varying fitness regimes for many years, and depending on the role requirement he mixes it up to either gain mass or sport a leaner, sinewy frame. His diet is also adjusted accordingly. It won’t take him long to get back in the shape he needs to be for Martin,” says Arjun.

The film also stars Vaibhavi Shandilya, Anveshi Jain, Chikkanna, Malavika Avinash, Achyuth Kumar, Nikitin Dheer, Nawab Shah and Rohit Pathak, among others.
