Ranveer Singh-led Dhurandhar: The Revenge, which is Dhurandhar 2, has a déjà vu of Akshaye Khanna’s Sher-e-Baloch song. The original track from Flipperachi – FA9LA – in Dhurandhar became iconic for Akshaye Khanna’s dance while Ranveer Singh’s version is inspired from a song which was once associated with Govinda. Find out how…
Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar 2 song for Sher-e-Baloch was originally seen in a movie featuring Govinda. The track was a part of Govinda-Rani Mukerji’s movie, Hadh Kar Di Aapne. The track is the Arabic song Didi written and performed by Algerian singer Khaled in 1992. While the song is used for Ranveer Singh’s entry after he becomes Sher-e-Baloch in Dhurandhar: The Revenge, Govinda’s scene for the song was among one of his many undercover masks while assigned to find out if his client’s wife was cheating on him. Govinda appears behind an empty TV screen and plays various character. One of them was of a Sheikh, who enjoys dancing to Didi.
Not just Govinda and Ranveer Singh, Akshay Kumar had also recreated the song for his movie, Airlift. The track became insanely popular and is still remembered. The song in question is De Di Dil Cheez Tujhe De Di.
Interestingly, there is a Hindi version to the song as well. Back in 1993, Rishi Kapoor and Anupam Kher performed to Ladki Ladki in the movie Shreemaan Aashique.
Dhurandhar 2 has created history on its opening day. The movie minted nearly Rs. 150 crore on day 1 at the Box Office, making the film the Bollywood movie with the highest opening day Box Office collection. Not just that, it has surpassed RRR to become the second highest opening Indian movie at the Box Office. Pushpa 2’s opening day still remains the highest.
