The intense action drama which also claims to be a spy-thriller and inspired by real-life events, is coming to cinemas on December 5, 2025. Reddit speculations say that Dhurandhar is inspired by Major Mohit Sharma's life who was a Para Special Forces Army officer, undertook covert operations deep inside enemy territory. Sharma was a Sena Medal and Ashoka Chakra recipient. However, the fact is not confirmed yet by the filmmakers.
In the year 2009, Mohit was engaged in an encounter with terrorists in the Hafruda forest of the Kupwara sector of Jammu and Kashmir. He had killed four terrorists and rescued two teammates in the process, but sustained multiple gunshot wounds that led to his death on March 21 the same year.
