Dhurandhar: The Revenge has emerged as one of the most anticipated Bollywood releases of 2026, generating significant buzz after the blockbuster Dhurandhar (2025). Starring Ranveer Singh and directed by Aditya Dhar, the spy thriller is slated to hit theatres on March 19, 2026, with paid previews kicking off a day earlier. Meanwhile, Dhurandhar: The Revenge faced several CBFC edits after which it received an 'A' certificate and a runtime of 3 hours 49 minutes.
Bollywood Hungama reported that the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) passed the film with an 'A' certificate. However, the Examining Committee (EC) advised for 21 cuts and modifications. The censor board's amendments were not limited to simply reducing the noise, but rather reflected a larger effort to tone down both the language and the intensity displayed on screen.
While the exact words were not revealed in the official cut list, several harsh or offensive lines were either muted or changed. Interestingly, one replacement used a word that was not directly offensive, indicating a precautionary measure to avoid potential misinterpretation. In some scenes, not only was a word left unspoken to avoid unwanted connotations, but a character's name was also changed—perhaps to a fictional name.
Regarding the visual edits, several violent scenes were trimmed to reduce their impact. The shot showing a hammer striking the head was cut by 2 seconds, while a sequence involving blows to the head with cement blocks was shortened by 4 seconds. Additionally, a 4-second segment showing an eye injury was shortened. The most notable change was a scene of beheading and kicking, which was cut by 24 seconds to reduce its brutality. The EC has also asked for corrections in two places: one regarding a historical event (only in the subtitles) and the other regarding the name of a city.

Not only these, additionally, the filmmakers were also instructed to include a separate disclaimer about drugs, along with another warning stating that the film contains disturbing content and should be watched with discretion. The chapter titles were also presented in Hindi. For scenes involving animals, a certificate from the Animal Welfare Board of India (AWBI) was provided. Finally, the makers have submitted formal permission to use the Prime Minister's references and include news footage in the film.
After all these changes, Dhurandhar: The Revenge got a runtime of 3 hours 49 minutes and 6 seconds.
