Dhurandhar: The Revenge has formally announced its post-theatrical streaming destination. After its theatrical run, the film—a direct sequel to the 2025 smash hit—will debut on JioHotstar (OTTplay Premium). The eight-week theatrical window will be followed by the film in accordance with the stringent industry regulations that were reinstituted in 2026 to safeguard theatre earnings. This clause prevents the digital premiere from cannibalising the film's box office take in its first several months out on the market.
| Film Title | Dhurandhar: The Revenge |
| Theatrical Release Date | March 19, 2026 |
| Streaming Platform | JioHotstar (OTTplay Premium) |
| Projected OTT Release Date | May 14, 2026 |
| Director | Aditya Dhar |
| Lead Cast | Ranveer Singh, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan, Akshaye Khanna, Sara Arjun |
Although the film's theatrical debut is set for March 19, 2026, digital viewers will have to patiently wait precisely two months before they can watch it at home on their streaming devices. According to the current 56-day exclusive agreement, "Dhurandhar: The Revenge" will debut on JioHotstar on May 14, 2026.
The digital distribution of the franchise is changing with this strategy. Late in 2025, Netflix premiered the first installment of the series. This month's final theatrical trailer for the film confirmed what many suspected: Jio Studios will retain the streaming rights within the JioHotstar ecosystem for the sequel.
The sequel, which is directed by Aditya Dhar, features Ranveer Singh once again, this time playing the role of Jaskirat Singh Rangi, as well as his alter ego, Hamza Ali Mazari. Following the lead character as he traverses the underground of Karachi to bring down a complex terror network, the story supposedly begins not long after the events of the first film.
Singh plays Jaskirat Singh Rangi/Hamza, Ajay Sanyal is portrayed by R. Madhavan, Major Iqbal (the main adversary) is played by Arjun Rampal, SP Chaudhary Aslam is played by Sanjay Dutt, and Yalina Jamali is played by Sara Arjun.
Jyoti Deshpande and Lokesh Dhar are the producers, and the film is produced by Jio Studios and B62 Studios. Members of the technical staff include composer Shashwat Sachdev and cinematographer Vikash Nowlakha.
Timed to coincide with a significant festive weekend that includes Gudi Padwa, Ugadi, and Eid al-Fitr, the release date of March 19 has been carefully planned. With this placement, the makers hope to attract more customers in the northern and southern Indian marketplaces. Dhurandhar: The Revenge is a pan-Indian release, coming out in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam, in contrast to the previous part's more restricted language reach.
There is a solo release window for the film right now. Production problems associated with Middle Eastern geopolitical issues forced the postponement of its main competitor, the Yash-starring Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups, to June 4. According to trade analysts, a record-breaking opening could be possible due to the absence of competition and the robust advance bookings, which have already surpassed the ₹18 crore level.
The centrepiece of Dhurandhar: The Revenge is Jaskirat Singh Rangi's personal vendetta. The plot shifts from the original film's focus on local intelligence operations to a massive multinational espionage thriller. Drawing on actual geopolitical happenings and clandestine operations, such as "Operation Lyari," the screenplay delves into the mental and emotional challenges of working undercover and the significant risks involved in cross-border intelligence gathering.
Paid previews are set for March 18, one day before the broad release, and theatres have already reported high demand for them as of March 11.
