Dia Mirza is presently filming Dhak Dhak opposite Ratna Pathak Shah, Fatima Sana Shaikh, and Sanjana Sanghi.
Dia shares her film selections as a new mother in an interview with Pinkvilla.
The actress began by explaining the plot of her film, without giving too much away. According to her, the four women play unique roles and would be seen riding motorcycles to begin on a journey of self-discovery. Dia could not reveal much about the film, although she did confirm "We all have (learnt how to ride the bike). We're all riding and are shooting right now."
Dia also explains how, 15 years ago, she would never have imagined receiving stories like this in her 40s."All I do want to say is, if you had told me 15 years ago, that I would chance upon the best stories of my career in my 40th year, I wouldn't believe you. Therein lies a change that is significant”.
While continuing to speak about the prevalence of ageism, patriarchy, and sexism in the film business and how it is being thoroughly challenged by new filmmakers and performers who are part of these stories.
While the actress also discussed her new motherhood and how she manages to juggle her shooting and her new child. According to the actress, she is frequently asked this question, to which she simply responds, "I priorities."
She goes on to explain that she will not be able to do all of the films and shows that come her way. Since she is extremely choosy about her films.
“Magically, time opens up for you when your aligned with your purpose and your only doing what really makes you feel alive”, Dia added.
On May 21, the first photo for the film was released. The post showed all of the leading ladies sitting on a bike and creating an outstanding pose for the camera.
Dia also continues to share behind-the-scenes photos with her Instagram followers. In a recent post, we saw her hugging her co-star Fatima while mentioning the temperature on their set. Dia was dressed in a burqa, while Fatima was in a t-shirt jacket and jeans.
Tarun Dudeja is the director of Dhak Dhak. While Viacom18 Studios is producing and Taapsee Pannu, Pranjal Khandhdiya, and Ayush Maheshwari are co-producing. The film is now under development and will hit theatres in 2023.
