The Kannada film Dia introduced two fresh pairs to audiences - Dheekshith Shetty and Kushee Ravi and Pruthvi Ambaar with the actress. While both were much loved, the tragic ending of Pruthvi's character arc sparked a fan-driven campaign to unite them both onscreen again. In fact, it was earlier reported that the duo would collaborate on a project to be directed by a former associate of Dia-maker KS Ashok, Darshan Apoorva.
The film, we hear, is now all set to roll, following an official muhurtha recently. According to reports, the as-yet-untitled project is based on a script written by Pruthvi and will be set in Udupi. The temple town will, apparently, be as much a character as the lead pair. In a Times of India report, Pruthvi was quoted as saying, that the sea has a lot of prominence in the story. "Kushee and I play a young couple who hail from Udupi town. While she is a musician, I play a local youth who pursues many trades,” he says. Kushee adds that while she played an introvert in Dia, this time around, she will strike middle ground as a musician.
Pruthvi, meanwhile, has had a very busy calendar since Dia, with films like Life is Beautiful, Sugarless and For Regn, apart from debuts in Tamil with Mazhai Pidikadha Manidhan and Hindi cinema with the Dia remake. Kushee is also set to foray into neighbouring Telugu cinema with Sundeep Kishan’s next. She also has a few films in Kannada, like Maarga, Nakshe and Spooky College, among others.
