The 2020 Kannada film Dia quite literally changed the fortunes of all its lead stars. While Pruthvi Ambaar is among the busiest actors these days with multiple projects in Kannada and an impending Tamil debut, Dheekshith Shetty has already finished shooting for his third film in Telugu, apart from two in Kannada. Kushee Ravi, who played their love interest in Dia, is now Tollywood bound, close on the heels of the OTT release of the Telugu-dubbed version of Dia.
Kushee is currently in Hyderabad, where she is shooting for an as-yet-untitled project directed by Disco Raja fame Vi Anand, in which she will be paired with Sundeep Kishan. This being Sundeep’s 28th film, the project currently has the moniker #SK28. The muhurtha of the film was held last weekend. Kushee shared an image from the muhurtha with a note that read, “New city, new language and new beginnings but seeking the same love from all of you.” The glad tidings about new beginnings came shortly after the actress won a Best Actress Awards (Critics) at the South Indian International Movie Awards (SIIMA) for her role in Dia, over the weekend.
Meanwhile, back home, Kushee is a part of an upcoming sci-fi short film that is based on the concept of time travel, wherein she plays someone from 2050, who goes back to the 80s. Also in her kitty is a Kannada-Telugu bilingual called Maarga, with Chetan Kumar, J Karthik and Reeshma Nanaiah, a horror-comedy with Vivek Simha, and two other films, Nakshe and Spooky College, in various stages of production. She is also slated to begin work on yet another film with Dia co-star Pruthvi, to be directed by Darshan Apoorva. The muhurtha of this project was held last week, with the team hopeful of going on floors by mid-October.
