Dibakar Banerjee released the trailer of his film LSD 2 – Love, Sex Aur Dhokha 2, earlier in the day. The director spoke about the hottest topic when it comes to his movie, the censor board. To everyone’s surprise, Dibakar revealed that the censor experience with the film was actually ‘smooth.’

Dibakar on LSD 2 censor

At the recently held trailer launch, Dibakar confirmed that the censor board experience on LSD 2 was rather ‘smooth.’ He did mention that there were some edits but nothing as major as expected from the movie. The reason for that is that the makers had already applied for an adult certificate. The board asked the makers to mute cuss words and blur out frontal nudity in the climax scene.

How LSD 2 happened

LSD sequel is here 14 years after the original film’s release. The movie starred Rajkummar Rao and Nushratt Bharuccha among others. Today, they both have become known stars in the industry. Dibakar did not actively think about pursuing the sequel of the movie but it was Ekta Kapoor who approached him. After a lot of discussions, they eventually agreed to do the film which narrates three stories – one based on reality shows, another social media influencer and the third being the virtual reality, where the human is disconnected from life. Further when asked if the film will preach anything, Dibakar said, “Mujhe toh kuch nahi sikhaana hai. I am a bad teacher.”

The trailer and what to watch out for

The trailer for this film was unveiled a while back and it saw two aspects. One was about how the LGBTQIA+ community is treated. The second was the dark side of the internet, which is what the film aims to explore. LSD 2 wishes to talk about how there is a dark world beyond the glamour in reality shows and social media influencing, where they have to survive on a day-to-day basis for the viewership count. The movie stars Mouni Roy, Tusshar Kapoor and Uorfi Javed in cameo appearances and is slated to release in theatres on April 19.
