"Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom," aka "Aquaman 2," has certainly made a dent, at least in internet culture, if not at the Box Office. The movie has stayed in the headlines for much longer than most blockbusters manage to, even if it was for controversies. Whether you are a DC fan or not, you know what "Aquaman 2" is and who Jason Momoa and Amber Heard are. But what if we now tell you that while the DCEU ends with the sequel, there might have been plans to cross it over with the Marvel Cinematic Universe if it had continued?

Hold your horses if you haven’t seen the movie because ahead are spoilers, and you are already warned. "Aquaman 2" hit theatres this week and has opened to decent numbers that meet the projections. However, the decent numbers are surely not in the good bracket for a film whose predecessor managed to earn over a billion dollars at the global box office. But what has now caught our attention is the fact that the movie made a passing reference to a Marvel character, and this might not just be a by-the-way joke but an idea that is now scrapped with a timeline.

If you have seen "Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom," you know the dynamic between Arthur Curry and Orm in the movie, played by Jason Momoa and Patrick Wilson, respectively. They are each other's Man Friday in the sequel, and the sarcasm between them is at its peak. In one of the scenes when the two are running from danger, Orm makes a sarcastic comment about Aquaman. It is in this moment that Arthur calls Orm Loki. Yes, you read that right.

The reference to Loki’s wit when he is with Thor is quite evident, and the dynamic in "Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom" is also quite similar. This has confirmed one thing: Marvel does exist in the world of DCEU, and the people of DCEU know the characters from the MCU. If that is the case, is there a possibility that the two universes could have crossed over like in the comics and created the much-anticipated moment for the fans in live-action?

But it seems like that is not happening because now DCEU is scrapped, and "Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom" was the last of the timeline. There is also the rumour that Jason Momoa is no longer Aquaman and will be recast as Lobo. So, technically, DCEU is scrapped and dismantled. Any hope of that timeline getting any chance in DCU is foolish. Stay tuned to OTTplay for more.
