Looks like all is not well between popular Bollywood actresses Alia Bhatt and Deepika Padukone. Though the two multi-talented stars of Indian cinema have contributed immensely to the film industry, the bond shared between the two often raises eyebrows.

Recently, the divas grabbed headlines after Padukone allegedly followed an anti-Alia Bhatt Twitter account. However, minutes later, she quickly rectified the mistake by unfollowing the account. However, this minor incident was captured by netizens, a few of whom posted videos of the development.

A Twitter user, whose handle is named @Instajustice13 claimed Padukone followed their ‘backup’ account, which often posted tweets trolling Alia Bhatt. The account also shared an alleged video claiming to show their notification about Deepika following the account.

This development sweeps in days after Bhatt made Met Gala debut in the USA where she walked the red carpet in a dreamy white dress adorned with pearls. The same day, Padukone posted a bunch of throwback pictures from the Academy Awards wherein she graced the Oscars 2023 stage to announce the dynamic performance of the film RRR's 'Naatu Naatu' song. Netizens were quick to respond in the comments section feeling that Padukone is jealous of Bhatt’s Met Gala debut. A user on Instagram wrote, “Why did you post it at the time of MET?” Another user wrote, “Insecurity.”

Bhatt and Padukone are yet to react on the development.

Notably, on Instagram, Priyanka Chopra Jonas is the most followed Indian actress with 86.9 million followers, followed by actress Shraddha Kapoor with 80.4 million followers. The third spot is bagged by Bhatt with 77.1 million followers and the fourth is earned by Padukone with 73.9 million followers. The fifth spot is taken by actress Katrina Kaif with 72.2 million followers.

On Twitter, the dynamics are slightly different. Though Chopra remains the most followed Indian actress with 27.8 million followers, the second spot is earned by Padukone with 27.1 million followers. The third spot is taken by Bhatt with 21.7 million followers and the fourth by Kapoor with 14.4 million followers. Kaif, however, does not have a Twitter handle.

For those unversed, Bhatt is married to Padukone’s ex-boyfriend-actor Ranbir Kapoor. While Padukone will soon be seen in a cameo in Shah Rukh Khan starrer Jawan, Bhatt will next be seen in Padukone’s husband Ranveer Singh starrer Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani.
