During the event, Deepika Padukone hinted at exploring the OTT space. "If I did OTT, would you all be upset?” she asked, but her fans said, "You are meant for the big screen." 

The actress also opened up about the noticeable decline of romantic comedies in cinema. Speaking about the challenges of making such a film a reality, he explains that he and his team are constantly on the lookout for drama, romance, and romantic-comedy stories. However, he noted that there is currently a lack of producers willing to support these genres, as well as a lack of writers who create such content. 

Encouraging fans to play a role in reviving the genre, he also said that he would be happy if they found any interesting books or interesting material.

Is Deepika Padukone doing a rom-com?

When a fan asked when she can be seen in a rom-com again, Deepika said, “I really hope very, very soon. As you all know, it is also one of my most favourite genres as an audience and also as an actor.” 

However, the actress went on to share her concerns about the feasibility of such a project, explaining that she felt the current climate and environment suggested audiences were seeking different kinds of content, though she believed that if so many people were asking for a rom-com, a large section of the public likely wanted it too.

Fans also offered casting suggestions, initially proposing Hrithik Roshan and soon after adding Ranbir Kapoor to the mix.
