Did Queen Bee Ramya just confirm rumours of a filmi comeback?

A decade ago, when Ramya (Divya Spandana) decided to actively pursue a career in politics and pushed cinema to the backburner, she was still at the top of her game and giving every heroine worth her salt competition. Her political ambitions, however, did not flourish as much, and while she still appears to be sympathetic to the party she has been with since the beginning, she has not been an ‘active’ member for some time. Ramya has been living a quiet life in Bengaluru and maintained in the occasional interview that she is not drawn to a life in cinema anymore and that she’d rather just watch what others are making.

However, in recent times, there have been some speculations pointing in the direction of a possible comeback by Kannada cinema’s former Queen Bee. Ramya, who after her stint as social media head of the Congress party, has been keeping her personal pages also only about issues that she is passionate about, has been peppering it with a lot of cinema-related stuff too, off late. Whether it is to congratulate her Just Maath Maathali co-star MG Srinivas on his latest directorial Old Monk, to sharing the KGF-2 trailer, praising Rakshit Shetty and his 777 Charlie, her budding friendship with Dhananjaya and his Badava Rascal co-star Amrutha Iyengar (Ramya even visited the set of the actor’s Hoysala) or wishing former co-star Kiccha Sudeep on the release of his film, Vikrant Rona, Ramya has been making her presence felt.

The online banter between Ramya and Rakshit fuelled multiple rumours, including a filmi collaboration. And then when she visited the office of Hombale Films, the production house behind biggies like KGF, Salaar, etc., the news was that she would be a part of one of their projects. In between it was also heard that Garuda Gamana Vrishabha Vahana maker, Raj B Shetty would be the first one to get to work with Ramya. None of this, however, was confirmed by any of the parties involved.

Tomorrow, on the occasion of Ganesha Chaturthi, Ramya will have a bit of good news to share with her fans, as per her latest social media post. While most netizens reckon that she will confirm her film comeback and began looking into the possible collaborations, others felt that she may be getting married, since her post mentions taking the plunge. Films, after all, are not new to her to be taking a plunge into, they reckon. Guess we will have to wait till 11.15 am tomorrow to find out!
