Actor Teja Sajja's superhero Telugu film HanuMan has not only entered the coveted Rs 100 crore club but has surpassed expectations by grossing over Rs 150 crore at the box office. The actor recently spoke about the film's success, his dedication to the project and the challenges he faced during its filming.

During an interview with Zoom, Teja revealed the physical toll that playing Hanumanthu in HanuMan took on him. He disclosed that he suffered several broken bones and even damaged the cornea of his right eye while shooting for the film. Despite the injuries, Teja has only love and admiration for every minute that he spent on the set of the film.

Elaborating on the eye injury, Teja said that the use of a red lens for his character scratched his cornea. Additionally, exposure to stones and dust during many scenes in the film contributed to the severity of the injury. The actor, however, remained optimistic, revealing that his eye was healing but that he would require surgery to fully regain his vision. "People talk about giving their blood and sweat, but we literally did that. HanuMan is a labour of love, pain and honesty," Teja said.

When asked about the possibility of doing another superhero film, Teja shared the exciting news of a sequel to HanuMan. He revealed that the makers already have plans to dive into the next chapter of the superhero saga.

Helmed by Prasanth Varma, HanuMan has an ensemble cast that also includes Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Amritha Aiyer, and Vinay Rai. Made on a budget of Rs 20 crore, the film continues to do well, having found itself in the Rs 150 crore club.
